The camp site was quickly set up and everyone when off to explore the Site.  Sunday morning saw young leader Sonia making her scout promise and becoming a member of 1st Copthorne Scouts.  The first activity of the camp was making camp gadgets for the site.

An hour later and we had a saw horse, a camp kitchen and a mug and plate stand.

The afternoon saw the boys take part in a pioneering project where they built 1a look out tower.

Wednesday we were up bright and early as we headed to Colchester zoo for the day.  There was so much to seeing and doing there, we even held cockroaches and giant snails.

Thursday saw us at the lake again this time for pedaoles and finally all the boys stayed in the boats and no one got wet form the Lake only for the rain!

In the afternoon the boys all went in the 3D maze and all managed to find their way out again,

In the evening we went for a night walk where we did get lost but found our way back eventually.  Friday saw the scouts attempt to climb the ice wall with pick axes and shoes with metal prongs. In the afternoon we all had a go on the cresta run, (toboggans).

In the evening we had a traditional campfire with everyone’s favourite songs. Saturday the site was quickly cleared and packed away and we headed for the Secret nuclear bunker and finally home for a long bath and an early night.
